Got a number? Let a real person sanity-check it
A calculator is a starting point. A 60-second enquiry gets someone who handles declined and unusual deals to test it against your actual bank statements. No credit check when you first enquire.
Why profitable businesses still run short
Profit and cash are different things. A business can win work, invoice it and still be short on the day wages are due, because the customer pays on 45-day terms, the supplier wants payment on delivery and the quarterly BAS lands in the same week. A cash flow gap is about timing, and timing problems are usually fixable with the right kind of short-term funding, provided you know how big the gap really is.
How to read the result
The bars show your running balance month by month. The headline number is the amount of funding that would keep the balance above the buffer you chose at its lowest point. That is usually a better guide to borrowing than adding up every bad month, because good months refill the account. If the balance never recovers by month six, the issue is less about timing and more about margins or costs, and borrowing alone will not fix it.
Matching the gap to the product
- Gaps that open and close: a business line of credit you draw and repay as needed.
- Gaps caused by slow payers: invoice finance releases money tied up in unpaid invoices.
- One deep dip: a short-term working capital loan sized to the lowest point.

Bring this picture to the conversation. Start a 60-second enquiry and tell us the size and timing of your gap; it makes the first call far more useful. No credit check when you first enquire. Questions about this tool
What is a cash flow gap?
The shortfall between money going out and money coming in over a period. A profitable business can still have a gap when customers pay slowly, a big supplier bill lands early or a quiet month hits.
Should I borrow the whole gap?
Usually borrow the deepest point of the gap plus a buffer, not the total of every bad month. The calculator shows the lowest balance so you can size it sensibly.
Which finance suits a short gap?
A business line of credit or short-term cash flow loan often suits gaps that open and close. Invoice finance suits gaps caused by slow-paying customers.
Does this include tax?
Include GST, PAYG withholding and super in your outflows for the months they are due. Missing them is one of the most common reasons a gap is bigger than expected.
