Your readiness
Still missing for your best route:
Got a number? Let a real person sanity-check it
A calculator is a starting point. A 60-second enquiry gets someone who handles declined and unusual deals to test it against your actual bank statements. No credit check when you first enquire.
Paperwork decides speed
Most delays in business lending are not about the decision. They are about waiting for a document: a missing bank statement, a BAS that was never lodged, an unexplained default that needs a phone call. Getting the basics together before you apply turns a week of back and forth into a day. This checklist shows what each route usually needs so you can prepare once.
The three routes
- Low doc unsecured: identification, ABN, around six months of bank statements and recent BAS. See low doc business loans.
- Full doc unsecured: adds tax returns, financial statements and a longer run of statements, and can support larger amounts.
- Property-secured: identification, the rates notice and any mortgage statement. No valuation is needed before approval. See secured business loans.
Behind on lodgements?
Many owners who come to us are behind on tax returns or BAS. That does not rule you out, but it narrows the options and it is worth fixing in parallel. Our page on business loans without up-to-date tax returns explains what still works.
Next step
You do not need a perfect score here to start. Start a 60-second enquiry and we will tell you exactly what your route needs. No credit check when you first enquire.
Questions about this tool
What is the difference between low doc and full doc?
Low doc loans rely mainly on bank statements, BAS and identification. Full doc loans add tax returns and accountant-prepared financials. Low doc can be quicker, while full doc may open larger amounts.
Why do lenders want an explanation of credit issues?
A default with a clear story, such as a client collapsing or a dispute since resolved, reads very differently from an unexplained pattern of missed payments. A short honest note saves a lot of back and forth.
Do I need a valuation for a property-secured loan?
No valuation is needed before approval. A rates notice and mortgage statement usually answer the main security questions.
Can I enquire before I have everything?
Yes. Start the enquiry and we will tell you exactly what is needed for your route. There is no credit check when you first enquire.
