Got a number? Let a real person sanity-check it
A calculator is a starting point. A 60-second enquiry gets someone who handles declined and unusual deals to test it against your actual bank statements. No credit check when you first enquire.
Compare offers on total cost, not headlines
Alternative lenders quote in very different ways. One offer shows a rate, another a fee, another a factor that multiplies the amount borrowed. Put each one into the same shape, the total dollars you will repay over and above what you borrow, and the comparison becomes simple. This calculator turns that one number into the repayment you will actually feel, whether it is debited every business day, weekly or monthly.
Why the share of deposits matters
A lender reading your bank statements is asking one question: can this account carry the repayment through a bad month as well as a good one? The last line in the results shows the repayment as a percentage of your average monthly deposits. The lower it is, the more breathing room you keep for wages, suppliers and the ATO. If it looks high, try a longer term or a smaller amount and watch the number move. Our guide to how much a business can borrow covers this in depth.
Daily, weekly or monthly?
- Daily debits suit businesses paid every day, like cafes and retail, but need a buffer in the account.
- Weekly lines up with wage cycles for many trades and service businesses.
- Monthly is common for longer and property-secured loans and suits businesses paid on invoice terms.

Questions about this tool
Why do I enter the total cost instead of an interest rate?
Because alternative loans are priced in different ways: some quote a rate, some a fixed fee or factor, some both. The total cost of finance you have been quoted is the one number every offer can be compared on.
What is a sensible repayment as a share of deposits?
There is no single rule, but many owners feel comfortable when total loan repayments sit well under a tenth of average monthly deposits. Above that, a slow month starts to bite. The calculator flags where you sit.
Why are some loans repaid daily?
Many short-term cash flow lenders debit business days because revenue arrives daily. It keeps each payment small, but you need to watch the account balance more closely.
Does the calculator include fees?
Include them. Add establishment fees and any other charges to the total cost of finance so the repayment and the cost per dollar reflect the whole deal.
